The criticism we receive and place upon ourselves when we make even the smallest mistakes seems to matter to a lot to the majority of us – so much that we seldom give time to bask in our accomplishments, especially the small ones. An accomplishment, no matter how big or small, is still an accomplishment. We get so caught up in chasing the bag that we don’t appreciate the small things up until we receive the bag. It is these small victories that really shape our character, our minds, and our growth.
An accomplishment is no small feat. A win is a win no matter if it was by one point or twenty, if it was by an inch or by a mile, or if it required little energy or all of your energy. At the end of the day you did what was necessary to accomplish something and that speaks volumes for your character. A victory only seems small when compare it to larger goals or achievement, and there’s nothing wrong with some victories being small. However, what people fail to recognize is how the bigger goals or achievements were set up and made possible by the smaller victories that led up to that point. Think about it, you victoriously drove to work or walked to school today knowing good and damn well you wanted to stay in bed. That sounds like a win in my book. The small victories are tedious and modest but they test your endurance, patience and help remind you of your aspirations.
The bigger picture is your goal. A lot of times we want to be able to have the picture that we drew in our mind framed up and in your possession already, but what happens when you get it? Just like anything else, it won’t feel the same unless you truly work for it. Remembering the details of how you accomplished something helps you value the big picture you have in your mind. Those little achievements help you prepare for how to wear your crown when all is said and done. The small victories are what help shape a strong mind.
The small accomplishments have a direct result on your growth. In any aspect of your life, growth is only gained through these small achievements. Reflecting on how you grew gives you a good insight about yourself, but reflecting on what made you grow gives you a better insight on life and how to maneuver through it. Every time someone grows, a victory has occurred. This means that each small victory represents a growth stride in your life. So no matter how small the circumstance is, there’s always something to appreciate.
Your mentality on life has a lot to do with success. You either believe you can or you believe you can’t. You either succeed or you fail. But no matter what, you still learn. You still grow. And it’s through your knowledge and growth that you were able to achieve in even the slightest way. That is why it’s important to appreciate and give ourselves credit for the achievements that might seem small.
As we enter 2019, let’s make sure we cherish every small victory we acquire.
A source of great relief and joy in the Christian life is that God’s love is ever available to us.

What if we gave to others with the same fervor and boundlessness as God?

We have an unwavering belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but does that mean we never experience doubt?

Surely, we can place our faith and trust in the Creator of worlds who sacrificed His Son for our salvation.

We pause to honor the obedience of Biblical mothers and the mothers in our lives to the will of God.

It is a blessing to experience motherly love and yet, it is incomparable to the love of God.

Surrendering to God is not a one-time act, but a daily act of liberation that draws us closer to Him.

If you and I are daily anchoring ourselves in the truth of the finished work of Christ on the Cross, then there isn’t any room for trying. Because Christ did not try to die …

I had “fictional-faith”, which I call faith that crumbles amidst adversity easily, and said actions by a person who has this type of faith demonstrates that they don’t …

I have come to realize that while I cannot make anyone regard what I do, the joy is in doing it for the Lord and having the opportunity and the privilege to do …

But most importantly I am reminded that the Lord loves me for who I am, not what I can do, and that He meets me where I am at. I am encouraged, therefore …

I am a bearer of God’s image, and I am a woman, and I am uniquely me, and these are all what God created me to be …

We tread this journey called life running through so many different paths, occurrences, and challenges. But God is so great that an utterance from Him …

We do both, praise and worship, ultimately to bless God and glorify His name. Now, the wonderful thing about living a life that worships God is that we ourselves …

But ministry is about serving the Lord, which is, in turn, about serving wherever it is that the Lord has called you to and doing it excellently …

The following truth about Black people will prevail despite the ignorance of many: we belong.

I can regard others the way I, myself, have been regarded in the eyes of the Father. Jesus washed feet (John 13:5) and loved His enemies. He has not asked me to ..

The grace we have received through Christ’s sacrifice provides us redemption, but not an excuse to allow sin to abound in our lives …
