SUMMARY:The UN-ASSOCIATED Poetry Jam
DESCRIPTION:UN-ASSOCIATED is a 501(c)3 multimedia platform and community on a mission to help young people cultivate their identity in Christ. Through digital content\, events and programs we are empowering and equipping young adults in the greater Los Angeles area (and beyond) to overcome life’s challenges\, serve their communities and represent Christ well. \nTwice a year\, our community comes togethe for our Poetry Jam to connect with one another\, worship God and share our stories through spoken word. Our poetry show takes on a different spin by placing God at the center of all we do. Each performer shares their story of triumph in order to give glory to God and proclaim their victory over various challenges they’ve faced. Before each performer begins their piece\, they are instructed to introduce themselves with the following script: \n“I am [insert name] and I am un-associated with [insert struggle].” \nIn doing this\, the performers communicate who they are and the challenges they refuse to associate with their sense of identity. We hope this night can be just a liberating and empowering for all attendees as it is for the performers. This even is open to all\, and free of charge. RSVP now!
